612 Main St – Boonton, NJ

This early 1900’s building, originally the Boonton National Bank building, sits atop Main Street with spectacular views to the Watchung mountains and surrounding area.  The project involved the renovation of the entire building for commercial offices, with the top floor serving as the offices for the owner’s business.  The owner required only two private offices, but those offices were to be located on the south side of the building and it was important that the light from the south be transmitted into the interior.  So glass block was used because of its sound deadening qualities as well as it’s ability to allow light to pass through.  Much of the structure was left exposed so that visitors were able to see the existing guts of the building.
